"World Refugee Day" is a global event initiated in 2000 by the United Nations. Here in Western NY, we want to celebrate people of all kinds who add great diversity to our communities. Our goals are to:
- Empower refugees and newcomers/new citizens
- Build community among refugees and newcomers/new citizens
- Increase community awareness of refugees and newcomers/new citizens
- Create a welcoming environment for refugees and newcomers/new citizens
- Highlight refugee and newcomers/new citizen successes
This event is supported by and affiliated with many organizations and communities throughout Buffalo.
