For this service project we are asking for volunteer who can help us prepare our grounds for our 6 week summer experience Dream Big!. This will entail grounds keeping work (clearing sticks/brush, weeding, etc.), carrying boxes/equipment from our attic storage to active program storage, assembling picnic tables and other equipment, inventory of supplies, and any other tasks that may arise based on the above preparations

The Tapestry K–4 School hosts a Field Day at the end of each school year!

This special event gives students the opportunity to participate in organized stations and activities on the Tapestry Track & Field. Teachers, staff, and families volunteer to run these stations and help create a fun, celebratory day for our students as they wrap up the school year.

Our Day of Caring volunteers will help to run some of the stations, so we can offer even more opportunities and fun for students.

Stations can include activities like relay races, balloon tosses, or similar games.

We need need 5 barbers and hairstylists, and 1 person to offer braids. Barbers & Cosmetologists must hold a current respective NYS license.

Our ReStore is a thrift-like store that sells second-hand items to community members at low costs. All money raised from our ReStore goes towards funding our mission of building affordable homes in Buffalo. Habitat Buffalo's headquarters and offices are attached to the ReStore.

Volunteers will be selling raffle tickets and lightsabers to guests in attendance at the game.

Provide comfort and care when your neighbors experience a crisis, particularly house fires! Disaster Action Teams respond within two hours to the scene of a house fire, meeting the immediate basic needs of those affected and beginning recovery casework. 

**This is an ON-CALL position. Requires willingness to travel throughout Cattaraugus County!*

Compeer clients need rides to social activities so they can connect, build friendships, and feel part of the community. You’ll pick up Compeer clients at their home, drive them to social activities, join in the fun if you’d like, and make sure they get home safely. Your ride helps clients living with mental health challenges stay connected, build friendships, and feel included.

Volunteers will communicate with a member of the Compeer staff using a secure transportation database tool to fulfill shifts & coordinate efficient pick-up and drop-off routes.

Monthly Milage reimbursement provided to drivers*

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Compeer clients and approved family members to a Compeer sponsored activity.

Optional- Drivers are offered the opportunity to stay at the Compeer activity, participate and build relationships with compeer clients.

Participate in positive interactions with all passengers, including greeting and engaging in conversation throughout sessions, listening non-judgmentally and empathetically.

Provide safe, comfortable, and dignified transportation.

Global African Village is a small, all-volunteer nonprofit doing humanitarian work in rural Uganda.

Help us connect with high school and college students, clubs, and groups needing to complete service hours. 

We have no office or staff; just three of us run Global African Village outside our full-time jobs in other fields.  This means that our time to research and make phone calls is rather limited. 

This volunteer opportunity involves researching and making outreach phone calls. You can do as much or as little as you'd like; we welcome any and all help with this task.

The BHSC Foundation is looking for volunteers for our 2026 Halloween Masquerade Gala on October 24th.

Volunteers will be needed the day prior for set up and for the event on the 24th to help with raffle ticket sales, runners for auction items, tech help for online bidding and many more roles. 

The International Institute of Buffalo is looking for volunteers to help New Americans practice English in our Conversation Club program! In this activity, volunteers are given a guide to work with recently arrived immigrants and refugees to help them develop their English language skills in a relaxed, casual environment. Alzheimer's Association Community Representatives are community engagers that raise awareness of Alzheimer's Association programs, provide basic disease information, and link consumers to Alzheimer’s Association services. They represent the Alzheimer's Association at community events and can offer general overview Awareness Presentations to various groups, organizations, clubs, etc.! 

Help us to promote support groups, education programs, awareness events, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, etc. using your local connections, bulletin boards, social media and physical displays in your community.

Join us the first Saturday of each month (10am-noon) for some gardening chores and accidental fun. Tasks vary but may include: weeding, watering, light carpentry, planting, harvesting, collecting seeds, starting seed trays, turning soil/compost, transplanting, raking, deadheading, putting up groundhog deterrent fencing, pruning trees and shrubs. Bring your favorite work gloves and water bottle. 

Sessions are 2hrs. You do not have to signup--just show up. Stay for an hour or the whole session.

Help us operate the cafe during weekday lunch service! No prior hospitality experience required. Volunteer tasks may include plating guest meals, taking orders at the register, brewing coffee, and washing dishes.

Currently, shifts are available on Thursdays and Fridays.

If you'd like to help in the kitchen, available shifts are 10-12:30pm and 12:30-3pm.

If you'd like to help front-of-house (taking orders at the register, serving guests), available shifts are 10:30-1pm and 1-3:30pm.

Volunteers must be at least 17 years of age.
