For this service project we are asking for volunteer who can help us prepare our grounds for our 6 week summer experience Dream Big!. This will entail grounds keeping work (clearing sticks/brush, weeding, etc.), carrying boxes/equipment from our attic storage to active program storage, assembling picnic tables and other equipment, inventory of supplies, and any other tasks that may arise based on the above preparations

 We would like to host Day of Caring United Way volunteers at our Resource Center Garden, where we host our gardeners for meetings and use it as a hub for materials distribution for our network of 117 gardens.

Volunteers will help repair our farm stand, which was damaged this winter, so we can better distribute fresh produce to the Pratt-Willert neighborhood, and will also assist with general garden upkeep/repairs to support our elderly gardeners.

This will include basic construction with wood, gardening, weeding, trimming, and litter removal.

We have a number of projects for our Day of Caring volunteers!

You can choose that morning which of the three you would like to work on -- and you can also switch to another project during the day, if you'd like!

1.Catholic Academy of West Buffalo is being consolidated into Our Lady of Victory Elementary School, which will create an influx of students into the building.  The space needs to be cleaned, organized, reconfigured, and possibly painted to prepare for the new students.  OLV Elementary is on the OLV Charities campus.

2. St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center is located within the 780 Ridge building and serves families by providing various supports; which includes clothing ranging from newborn through toddler sizes.  Volunteers are needed to assist in sorting, folding and matching clothing into outfits in order to be distributed to families in need.

3. OLV Charities plans and executes many events that raise funds that enable us to continue supporting the efforts of our mission partners.  Volunteers are needed to help organize and sort the holding space for all of the event materials and supplies to help create a more streamlined planning process.

Help us operate the cafe during weekday lunch service! No prior hospitality experience required. Volunteer tasks may include plating guest meals, taking orders at the register, brewing coffee, and washing dishes.

Currently, shifts are available on Thursdays and Fridays.

If you'd like to help in the kitchen, available shifts are 10-12:30pm and 12:30-3pm.

If you'd like to help front-of-house (taking orders at the register, serving guests), available shifts are 10:30-1pm and 1-3:30pm.

Volunteers must be at least 17 years of age.

Help With Buffalo Audubon at Beaver Meadow's 2nd Annual SpringFest

We are currently recruiting individuals and groups to help with our SpringFest at Beaver Meadow fundraising event! SpringFest is scheduled for Saturday, June 6th and will include hourly themed hikes, live music, ambassador animal presentations, raffles, refreshments, nature-based art projects, and more!

Day-of volunteer roles include:

Coffee, doughnuts, pizza, and soft drinks will be provided for volunteers.
