Description

Six times a day in the United States, someone dies in a home fire. Even more frequently, American Red Cross volunteers provide help to families who have lost their homes to devastating fires. It’s more important than ever that we all join together to save lives, reduce injuries and cut down on needless losses from home fires.

This fall, we are asking every Red Cross region to join us in launching a nationwide public initiative that aims to reduce the number of fire deaths and injuries in the U.S. by 25 percent within five years. This initiative is focused on making a lasting and measurable impact on community preparedness and resiliency.

Responsibilities:

• As part of home visit team, visit homes at-risk for home fires and helps assess the condition of working smoke alarms, and install smoke alarms or batteries as appropriate, and test them.
• Follow all guidelines, training, saftety and documentation requirements for this task.
• Provide reporting and evaluation feedback for continuous improvement purposes.
